Adolphe Philippe Millot was a French painter, lithographer, and entomologist that lived from 1857 – 1921. As an illustrator of natural history, he specialized in the illustration of animals and plants and was an art teacher at the National Museum of Natural History. His works combine the skills of a designer, the artistic qualities of a painter, and the knowledge of a scientist. Many Millot illustrations were published in editions of the dictionary Le Petit Larousse during the twentieth century.
